Expand What You Know and Do

Bradley Hills Village (BHV) offers a place to explore new ideas, take on new interests, and join outings with friends.  Activities are selected and scheduled based on members’ passions and interests. Currently activities are offered in the following areas: 

Book Group: Reads fiction, history, science, memoirs and politics. Brings in authors to speak; and tackles topics like race, immigration and the environment. Members of the book group select books 6 months in advance. Meets monthly, the third Wednesday of the month in members’ homes. Learn More


Coffee & Conversation: Meets by zoom and in person to discuss common interest topics about aging in place. Meets monthly, usually the second Thursday of the month, from 2:30PM-3:30PM.

Cultural Outings: BHV members go as a group to museums, galleries,concerts, plays, and movies. Followed by optional coffee or meal. Carpools are arranged when requested. Meets monthly.

Environmental Group: Aims to inform and engage members on issues affecting the environment and climate change, and to encourage environmentally friendly practices in our homes and neighborhood.  Meets from 7PM-8PM, first Monday of the month.Learn More 

Food and Friends: Events focus on food & friendship. Group goes to member homes or nearby restaurants for happy hours, tea, or lunch.

Cooking classes, neighborhood food tours, and progressive dinners. Monthly, dates to be determined.



Garden Group: Group shares gardening tips and goes on garden tours.Visits to neighborhood gardens or trips to gardens such as Brookside. Monthly, dates to be determined.

Triangle Garden Work Crew: Means what it says! From May- October meets once or twice a month on Saturday from 9AM-11AM to tend, weed, and care for the community public garden located at Garfield and Roosevelt Streets.Opportunity to share gardening interests and expertise. Tasks assigned according to interests.Learn More 

Voices in the Village: Highlights talented neighborhood experts, Speakers and performers have included foreign policy experts, environmental leaders, artists, musicians, and children book authors. Meets every other month, usually on Sunday during winter months from 1-2 PM. Presentations by Zoom or in person.

Walking Group: Members meets for a 45-minute walk in neighborhood. Get to know your neighbors in this group. Meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 10 AM. We walk most when weather is nice and temperature is between 32 and 85 degrees.

Annual Forum & Seasonal Celebrations:  BHV organizes an annual winter Public Forum with speakers who address issues of importance.  Past speakers have included among others elected officials U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, former MD Attorney General Brian Frosh, and MD State Senator Ariana B. Kelly. BHV also has seasonal celebrations, often a Winter and a Summer holiday party with music, food, and friendship.
